FOX 9 News spoke to Jenny Ginther from Water’s Edge CHC regarding the Facebook body image study.
“Researchers looked at 600 Facebook users between the ages of 16 and 40, and more than half say Facebook makes them feel more self-conscious about their weight and body. It wasn’t just women either. In fact, men were twice as likely to post negative comments about their bodies than women. “I think it’s human nature to compare, but to chronically compare to a higher standard is always going to create unhappiness,” said Jenny Ginther, who counsels people with body image issues and eating disorders.
